What is SnapYT?
SnapYT is a free online tool that turns YouTube videos into audio and video files like MP3 and MP4. Paste a link, pick a format, download. Nothing to install, no account to make.
How is SnapYT free?
It runs on coffees, not ads. People who find it useful chip in on Ko-fi, and that covers the servers. Supporters get a few perks, but the core converter is free for everyone.
Is SnapYT safe?
Yes. No ads, pop-ups, or fake download buttons, which is what makes most converters feel sketchy. The site runs over HTTPS behind Cloudflare, and you never install anything.
Do you track what I convert?
No. Free conversions are anonymous and aren't tied to any identity, and we don't log which videos you convert. The only thing we store is the email attached to a Ko-fi donation, to send a supporter their key.
Why become a supporter?
It keeps SnapYT free and ad-free and unlocks the heavier features: longer audio and video, 1080p through 4K, and lossless WAV. It's optional, and the everyday converter works fully without it.
What can I convert, and is it legal?
Any YouTube video, into the formats we offer. Whether a download is allowed depends on the material and YouTube's Terms: your own or public-domain content is fine, copyrighted content without permission isn't. That responsibility is yours.
A conversion isn't working. What do I do?
Try again in a moment, since the odd video fails for reasons on YouTube's side. If it keeps failing, email [email protected] with the link.
